SWEET HOME CHICAGO

Our Chicago adventure took place in early summer 2019.

We shot at Lake Michigan in properties such as the old KRAFT manor in Wilmette, old Victorian town houses in South Loop Chicago or in the skyscrapers in downtown Chicago with a stunning view from the 36th floor over Millennium Park. Home owners welcomed me into their private interiors and designers gave me access to their latest projects. I am very grateful and every single time astonished how welcoming and warm hearted these moments are.

The Intimacy project itself is in total an overwhelming and unique experiment, like having a free jazz concert and all members only meet on stage at the moment the concert starts. This time it was the family of my representatives Oscar and Sarkis Tatosian that made it so special. I was part of this beautiful Armenian family which has been running their company for three generations. Every single family member helped and came over to the set. To be integrated in a loving family structure was a big joy for me and will stay in my memory for ever.

This interior project features our strong new collections NewTribal, HardBoildSplash and Waterlily, all hand knotted carpets, the emphasis is on the product’s identity, the use of authentic materials, traditional production techniques and not to mention the cultural narrative dimension of the provenance. As a special highlight I’d also like to mention the EasyMe collection in cooperation with the Portland based architect Michael Howells. In every detail joyful and excellent in this understanding of pattern in interior.

All interiors were shot by my dear friend and Portland based photographer Laurie Black and her husband Marc.

I’m happy to announce that the next project is already lined up in the desert of Arizona in cooperation with my dear friend David Adler in Scottsdale.

Thank you sweet home Chicago! You’ll always be very special to me.
