The statement I love most about my rugs is: “Our rugs are naughty and smart, the same combination I like in people.” My rugs should bring freshness and soul to each interior. We as Rug Stars are in love with beauty, with craftsmanship, in love with space, light, and interior. The carpet is the only item in the interior that can create a room within a room without building walls, so for me, a carpet is the most liberal form of architecture. The architectural dimension of a carpet is very high; with a carpet, you can divide modern architecture between the walking area and a resting area.
And as a carpet is a textile, this resting area is very intimate. A carpet with a table creates a dining room, a carpet with a sofa creates a living room, simple like this, what more can you ask for. Custom and bespoke rugs are the trademarks of RUG STAR. We have developed 1.400 contemporary rug designs since our foundation in 2002, all of which are available and customizable on request. This is their beauty in the interior and the reason why, as an architect, I started to work with carpets.

My team and I consider ourselves to be a hundred percent dedicated rug addicts. We have grown very fond of every piece we create, and we absolutely love modifying our designs to fit you. Our goal is the perfect match with your interior. Changes in size, color, and material are our daily routine. With pictures of your home and the designs you like, we can start creating the perfect rug for your private home.
Every rug you’ll see on this website has been designed in Berlin and was hand-crafted in either the Himalayas, the deserts of Rajasthan, or in the valleys of Afghanistan. One of our work’s main themes is to illustrate the consistent flow of timeless beauty that lends a physical appearance to this centuries-old craftsmanship. Static patterns are broken by our love for experimenting with different materials and faded color scapes that get a new lease of life by alternative means of surface treatment. This way, we breathe life back into an art that has long been forgotten.
I aim to treat a carpet as it was originally intended, as a piece of room-creating furniture.
