Our contemporary modern rug art is produced in Rajasthan, India, as a hand-knotted Persian weave in 9/9 knot quality in a nice blend of wool and silk. The surface comes in a high/low texture, where we clip down particular wool fields to create a topography of material and texture.

In the beginning, the Waterlily collection was a combination of mostly primary colors or clear black and white divisions in blurred geometric blocks. A fresh, bold, and clear message in hand-knotted Persian rug weave produced in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Easy to gear with modern interior and architecture. Now, with over 54 variations in design, color, and material execution, Waterlily is one of the widest contemporary collections within the product range of RUG STAR. A perfect play between the idea of geometric fields and a tender textile landscape in the interior. Collection Waterlily is produced in wool and silk. We use silk in the pattern and
mostly a natural grey wool in the background. As high/low version, the wool parts in the background are mostly clipped lower by scissors. In the 100% wool version, we sandblast the whole rug. The surface gets more tender and appears velvet. We increase the ability of the fiber to reflect light and room atmosphere to the max. All designs of our contemporary rug art collection Waterlily are customizable on request. Custom and bespoke rugs are the trademarks of RUG STAR, contact us with your ideas after reviewing the collection. We would love to create your one of a kind rug for your interior.
